Trans Ocean Gas
Inc. is a privately owned company, headquartered in St. John's, Newfoundland
and Labrador, Canada. It is located at the National Research Council's
Institute for Ocean Technology (NRC-IOT). Trans Ocean Gas was incorporated
under the laws of Newfoundland and Labrador in 2001.
The President of
Trans Ocean Gas is Mr. Darrell Hawkins, M. Eng. (Naval Architecture).
The principal shareholder is Mr. Steven Campbell, P. Eng. Mr. Campbell
holds the patent for FRP CNG; licensed exclusively to Trans Ocean Gas
Inc.
The three modes
of CNG transport patented are marine based, tractor-trailer, and inter-modal
refrigerated containment. The innovative solutions provided by Trans
Ocean Gas offer the most technically feasible and cost effective methods
of transporting natural gas by sea, by road, and by rail.
Verification testing
for the certification of FRP pressure vessels is underway with the first
prototype test completed on February 10, 2007. Verification testing
of numerous full size prototype FRP pressure vessels is scheduled to
be complete by the end of 2007. Marine based certification is anticipated
during the second quarter of 2008. Road transport certification is anticipated
by the end of 2008.
Once certified,
Trans Ocean Gas will establish its manufacturing facilities to manufacture
its FRP pressure vessels in house. Trans Ocean Gas expects to sanction
its first CNG project soon after marine certification is granted. Several
potential CNG projects are currently being assessed. Pressure vessel
systems will not be sold; only leased.
